JAMAL ABOUL-HOSN “TYRE, A CITY OF MEMORY AND DREAMS“ 2017, JULY 20 & 22

July 20 & 22, 2017: Tyre, a city of Memory and Dreams
An acclaimed artist for combining high-quality standards of classical music with expressive elements of ethnic and electronic colors.

From Vienna to Los Angeles to Dubai to Yokohama, he has performed in over 100 Festivals, Universities, and Conferences worldwide.

The show involves creative live musical performance, blended with ethnic, Arabic and modern elements, arranged with a new atmospheric feel of sound, synchronised to visual images of arts, exotic nature, graphics and 3D computer animation, accompanied by impressive lighting, laser and video art. Poetry, voices and dance will be featured.

Carmen Mota has dedicated professionally, more than 50 years to the art of flamenco dance and choreography. Flamenco is an art that can fuse with different types of music and dance. She decided to break with traditions and clichés and to use her imagination to create productions that exude magic, modernity and passion with every breath. The past, present and future combine with different cultures to create shows that are pure energy…

For many years, Carmen Mota has held an important position in the world of Spanish dance. Her name is the synonym of passion, exuberance and spectacle. Mota’s whole life has been devoted to this art form, a passion that is reflected in each and every one of her shows, which leave the audience buzzing with her own particular aesthetic sense. Her work has been recognised all over the world for its innovative choreography, which embraces diverse styles and fuses traditional Spanish dance with the most modern styles.

WAEL JASSAR 2017, AUGUST 4

August 4, 2017: Wael Jassar
Wael Jassar is a Lebanese singer. One of the singers who have managed to forge a place in the Arab song to make one of those rare artists who could sing a modern Arabic music which retains its identity and recalls the golden age of Arab music . Wael Jassar has become in recent years a reference in the world of Arabic song. This young Lebanese rocked on the melodies of classical Arab music has developed a great passion for music and sang from an early age songs diva Oum Kalthoum and the general Abdel Halim Hafez .
The success so far suggest a bright future for this young singer. Iddounia alimitni Habibi Kallimni Ah Minno Al Hawa Majrouh Ya Samra , are some of his songs that have become around the Arab world.

CHAB KHALED 2017, AUGUST 5

August 5, 2017: Chab Khaled
Khaled Hadj Ibrahim was born in 1960 in Oran’s Eckmühl neighborhood, Algeria. At the age of 14, he founded the Cinq Étoiles (Five Stars) band and started performing in nightclubs and at weddings. In the 1980s, Khaled started producing and singing raï songs. He moved to France in 1986.

In 1998, the documentary Khaled: Derrière le sourire was produced, recounting his life.
In 2010 he performed Didi at the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, making him one of the best selling Arabic language artists in history.

“No people in the world manifest such enthusiastic admiration for literary expression and are so moved by the word, spoken or written, as the Arabs. Modern audiences can be stirred to the highest degree by the recital of poems, only vaguely comprehended, and by the delivery of orations in the classical tongue, though it be only partially understood.

THE ARABIC POETRY NIGHT will host one of the most prominent poets in the Arab world and will include:
