Meem Gallery is honoured to be presenting an exhibition of printmaking by the late Palestinian artist and writer, Kamal Boullata. The works on display comprise of silkscreen works by the artist dated between 1983 and 2018, from his early silkscreens created in Washington DC in the early 1980’s, to his last work, Qasida, produced in late 2018.

A vernissage and book launch will be held at the gallery from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Monday, the 17th of February, during which an Art Dubai Portraits short film, as well as, Bilqis, a Meem Gallery commissioned short, will be screened.

As part of Meem Talks, Kevin Jones will be in conversation with Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi and Suheyla Takesh of Barjeel Art Foundation at 4:00 PM on Saturday, the 29th of February which will explore themes within the art practice and literary work of Kamal Boullata. The talk will be followed by a viewing of the 1985 film, Stranger at Home in which the artist and the film’s writer/director, Rudolf Van den Berg document Boullata’s return to his exiled home, Palestine.

The vernissage will be held on 17 February from 6-9 PM at Meem Gallery.

The exhibition will run from 17 February until 9 March 2020.
