This September Meem Gallery presents Iran Print, the inaugural exhibition in what will become a series of presentations documenting modern and contemporary printmaking in Iran; running parallel to Meem Gallery’s Arab Print program.

Invited curators Yashar Samimi Mofakham and Tarlan Rafiee of Bread and Salt Projects, Tehran, will present a thoughtful selection of prints by well known Iranian modernists; Sirak Melkonian, Bahman Mohassess, Parviz Tanavoli, and Charles Hossein Zenderoudi. Alongside these works there will also be the inclusion of a collection of historical Qajar lithographs; in order to highlight the history of printmaking in Iran and it’s development into the 20th century.

The exhibition will host both works on loan from private collections and works for sale.

The vernissage, in the presence of the curators, will be held on 23 September from 6-9pm at Meem Gallery. The exhibition runs 24 September to 5 November 2019.
