Rodolph Farah

Photographer

Born June 1964 in Sin El Fil – Beirut, Lebanon

Began my studies at Frère Mariste - Beit Mery, and continued my secondary school at Frère Mont La Salle.

Transferred to Middle East College in 1982 for a degree in Electrical Engineering.

After 2 years, I went to Brazil to continue my diploma and returned to Lebanon in 1986. Started self learning and got an expert degree from Adobe in Photoshop. Began teaching in USEK in 1999, and completed a Graphic Design Degree, a Masters Degree in Animation and Finishing a PhD degree in Motion Graphics with Spain.

Through my degrees, I learned to visualize my dream in art, and becoming a “Light Keeper”.

A light keeper is the person who used to keep the fire burning during the night in stone ages. In our century, my job is to keep the light brightening in the hearts of my students, and through this light, evolve the expressiveness through photography and art designs. I was able to handle light the way I intended and time and experience gave me enthusiasm to show how impressive light is to me and how it can also be to others. I became the course coordinator in Middle East University in Sabtieh, Beirut, for the Graphic Design and Digital Media concentration. And I am now infecting my students with the obsession of light. Wonders are being now created with light in my department, which makes me proud of what I kept with determinacy for all of these years.
I was able to accomplish all of my dreams because of two causes: the first was my persistency and the way I aim and hope for the future, second the conditions I was placed in. The place that helped me most in this task was Middle East University, because it is an ideal University in nurturing the students and evolving their abilities. For this reason, I am now able to truly perform what I was born to be, “A Light Keeper”.
