1925 - Born in the City of Simawa - Iraq.
1942 - Worked in the survey department (Maps printing office) Baghdad.
1948 - Graduated from Teachers College - Baghdad / B.A. in social sciences.
1951 - Contributed with Jawad Saleem in establishing the Group of Baghdad for Modern Art, and participated in its exhibitions.
1954 - Graduated from the Institute of fine arts / Evening - Diploma in painting. First personal exhibition in the Institute of fine arts Gallery - Baghdad.
1955 - 1959 - Studied in the institutes of France (Paris) - Decorative arts - Beaux-Arts.
1961 - First general exhibition / Institute of Fine Arts Gallery - Baghdad.
1966 - Reflections and Ascensions Exhibition - The National Museum of Modern Art Gallery / Baghdad.
1968 - 1969 - Taught "painting" in the Saudi Arabia, Emergence of the idea of "one dimension".
1971 - Established the "One Dimension Group" - First exhibition - The National Museum of Modern Art Gallery / Baghdad.
1974 - Reflective Visions Exhibition - The National Museum of Modern Art / Baghdad.
1975 - Participated in the Festival of Cannes Sur Mer - France.
1976 - Venice Biennial - Italy
1977 - Arab Art Exhibition - The Iraqi Cultural Centre / London.
1978 - Personal Exhibition - Sultan Gallery / Kuwait.
1979 - The 15th Sao Paolo Biennial - Brazil.
1979 - 1980 - Personal Exhibition - The Iraqi Cultural Center / Beirut. An exhibition with Naja Al-Mahdawi, Tunisia.
1982 - Devoted himself to painting and artistic theoretization.
