Following
last year’s success, we are happy to announce that
we are organizing the second edition of “Ephemeral
Gardens” at “Rikky’z” Faqra from the 10th to the
15th of August.
An
Ephemeral space of several m2 will be installed
on the forecourt of Rikky’z. Visitors will
discover a dozen themed gardens created by distinguished
guests chosen among artists, architects, designers,
journalists, and businessmen…
We also reserve 20 3x3 stalls, and 15 covered booths
(1.6x50 cm) for exhibitors.

Gardens, even ephemeral ones, alter our appreciation
of time, our perception of landscape, our awareness
of light, and even our relationships with one another
...
This exhibit awards many different outlooks on contemporary
design.
Artists offer us the chance to uncover their inspiration
through Fleeting Gardens.
This
exhibition is an opportunity to offer multiple outlooks
in contemporary design.
Creators from here and from abroad will unveil their
vision through the fleeting gardens: Beautiful designer
landscape will reveal themselves to viewers like
secret treasures one by one.
Introduction
Installed on RIKKY’Z courtyard, from August 10th
to the 15th, 2012, a Fleeting haven of several square
meters, will be dedicated to gardening. Visitors
will discover twelve themed gardens, Maximum 5 *5
m m, created by selection of distinguished guest
artists, landscape architects, and designers...
These works appeal to the different senses through
mineral matter, light, sound and aroma.
A peaceful oasis ... RIKKY’Z nurtures a certain
art of living by giving carte blanche to floral
creativity.
Entertainment and meetings will be scheduled.
The Fleeting Gardens site:
The square will be divided into small gardens, each
assigned to a different artist.
A path will allow visitors to stroll between the
gardens and admire their beauty. Explanation panels
will be placed by each garden to guide the viewers
into a better understanding of the design
Garden
artist’s Objective is
• To elicit the element of surprise, through which
both the site and its history are revealed, constituting
an marked presence in the traditional nature of
Kfardebian,
• To be unpredictable and reach a large audience
• To draw their inspiration from the rich history
• To create a new garden lingo, and impose their
vision by dressing up RIKKY’Z Plateau with lush
gardens
The Theme: Gardens & Gastronomy:
Designers are invited to create a colorful garden
where plants and culinary art have a place of honor.
In other words, we propose that the artists draw
their inspiration from the art of the kitchen, in
that gardens should include a prop or any other
detail, recalling gastronomy, be it in the choice
of flora or in the accessories used.
They can also offer a "garden at a glance"
i.e. a small green patch, within the same culinary
theme, in a more anecdotal, humorous, or satirical
touch.
Finally Creators offer a garden that is:
- Diversified
- In line with the proposed theme
- Unpredictable and innovative
