Zeidan
Biography
Salwa Zeidan born in the Bekaa valley, daughter of a poet. His profound
involvement with his art brought her closer to the art world.
Self taught artist, and privately by well known artists also attending
lectures on art At Lebanese American University, and becoming a
well known exhibitor helped her quickly in climbing the ladder of
recognition in the world of art.
Started exhibiting in 1989 till 2003, won two prices and soon her
work was accepted in many galleries and biennale all over the world.
In 1999 she was invited by the Royal Academy of
Science International in London to Exhibit under there patronage
in the program culture for peace and since then she started exhibiting
for peace.
Her abstract work is spiritual and peaceful ,reflecting her strong
spiritual believes, deals with a lot of inner Light .she believes
that art is self discovery ,and every artist paints what he is

In December 2003 Salwa
Zeidan has won the fourth prize in the Florence Biennale - Italy,
among 900 artists from 72 countries and 3500 artworks, she was selected
as one of the happy winners.
She now lives and works in Broumana –Lebanon.

Artist statement
My paintings are formed out of my impressions, observations and
my emotional experiences I see reality as an endless process of
conflicts and decisions , therefore the tonality of experience can
never be resolved in a definite way.
The texture of life is like the surface of a block of clay; it is
shaped and molded by the circumstances of daily conflicts, personal
and collective catastrophes and individual questioning.
My work lives on this quest until it becomes a rite of realizations,
a struggle for the possibility to order the sensation of consciousness.

Le visible
et l'invisible par Adonis.
Voici un tableau
auquel manquerait, dirait-on, sa propre image.
Une toile sur laquelle aucun cri de couleur ne figure, aucun tumulte
d'animation.
Illustration du furtif, du bruit sourd, du chuchotement et de l'intimité.
Ce que l'œil y perçoit c'est aussi à la fois l'imperceptible.
Tableau à la fois visible et invisible. Certes visible, puisque
vision sensible, invisible aussi, puisque vision ne révélant
que partiellement ce qu'il recèle.
Il s'esquive
tout en se manifestant. Rappelant une certaine mystique charnelle,
une spiritualité matérielle de laquelle, la lumière
et l'ombre semblent jaillir ensemble, à l'image d'une vague
unique.
C'est alors
qu'elle devient œuvre de l'imagination, de la pensée et de
l'esprit. Ainsi s'accordent dans le tableau le patent, visible,
et de l'intime, occulte, sa matérialité et sa mystique.
L'art s'incarne
dans la toile, comme respire la rose, s'éclose le bourgeon
et se répand le parfun.Du
même battement, s'animent le matériel et le naturel.
L'œuvre, manuelle,
ne se mesure guère, ici, à l'ouvrage de la main, elle
le transcende, atteignant les limites tracées par le corps
tout entier, celles de l'énergie créatrice tout entrière.
Il n'est de
paradoxe ici entre technique et intuition, passion du cœur et contemplation
rationnelle. Matière et esprit coulent, empruntant même
forme, même structure.
Intereférence
de rythmes, synthèse et emboîtement d'une structuration
ouverte. Comme si, dans le tableau, l'existence et les choses se
transformaient en musique, c'est dans une frénésie
lyrique que se réalise cette mutation où l'œuvre d'art
se déploie sur la toile, en son sein, comme sur les sables
se déferle la vague, simple, limpide et mouvant à
l'instar de l'eau.
