Three Saints in the Heart of Lebanon
A bas relief representing the three Saints of Lebanon: Charbel Makhlouf, Rafca and Nehmetallah Hardini.
I aimed through this work to gather our three saints in one Heart to symbolize that the heart of Lebanon is full only with Sanctity, Love and Loyalty, the characteristics of the three Saints.
On a Lebanese Eternal Cedar, in the middle of the Lebanese Trinity, within a heart revealing the Cross of Antioch, symbol of obedience, poverty and chastity, lived by our Saints all their lives.
On the left side of the work, the cross of the Order of Lebanese Monks, of which the three Saints emerge to sit next to Jesus. The right side holds the picture of Notre Dame d'Illge (the Virgin). The bottom of this work holds the universal symbols of Christ Body and Blood, the grapes and the wheat.
This bas relief was offered to Father Atanathios JALKH and is exposed at the Convent of the mother House in Ghazir.
To My dearest Saints, I ask you to bless Lebanon and its people so they may continue their human coexistence and peace may be established in the orient and the occident through the intercession of the Saints and the help of God.

The fabrication and trade of perfumes
The art work
represents an important activity for eastern populations. This Egyptian bas relief, at the Louvre Museum, 7th or 8th century B.C. shows the work of perfumers. To the right: picking flowers. In the middle: the press, where the mixture is crushed. To the left: the final product poured in to amphora to get rid of impurities by settling the liquid.
The aloe is much sought today for ornaments or for the medical properties of its leaves and their odorous qualities, but this was different in the past; the aloe perfume is mentioned several times in the Bible (Psalm 44, line 9, Proverbs, Chapter 7, line 17, Song of the Songs, Chapter 4, line 14)
